Avocado Guacamole - Quick, Easy, and Delicious Recipe

Guacamole is a typically Mexican snack based on avocado. This dish has countless recipes and ways to be prepared and can be served either savoury or sweeter, usually accompanied by a crunchy element, tortillas.

See here how to make a super simple low-carb Guacamole recipe, which you can serve during a party or dinner so that your guests can snack on something tasty and healthy.

Ingredients (for 4 people):

- 2 ripe avocados;

- 100 ml of plain unsweetened fat-free yogurt;

- Juice of 1 lemon

- Salt to taste;

- 1/2 tomato;

- 1/3 of 1 red onion;

- 1/3 of 1 green pepper.

(To make homemade whole-wheat tortillas/chips, if you choose not to buy them):

- 300 ml of water;

- 300 g of whole wheat flour;

- Salt to taste.

Start by making the whole-wheat tortillas/chips. In a bowl, gradually add water to the flour while stirring until you get a uniform, lump-free viscous dough. Season with a little salt.

Heat a non-stick frying pan over high heat and place the liquid dough in the centre and rotate the pan until the entire surface is covered with the dough. Wait one minute, flip the tortilla and leave it for another minute on the opposite side. Remove from heat and let cool. Cut the tortilla into triangles, place on a baking tray and bake at 180ºC for about 7 minutes, until you get your crispy whole-wheat chips. Remove from the oven and set aside.

For the guacamole, open the two avocados and remove the skin and pit with the help of a knife and a tablespoon. Place in a bowl along with a pinch of salt and the fat-free yogurt and blend everything with a hand blender until you get a slightly thick and homogeneous greenish paste. Finally, add the lemon juice to prevent the avocado from oxidising easily and to give a sour touch to the dish.

Finally, with a knife, finely chop the 3 vegetables into small cubes and mix them in a small bowl. Sprinkle on top of the Guacamole and serve everything in a large bowl, accompanied by another bowl with the crispy whole-wheat chips.

Super easy and nutritious, made in a few minutes and mouth-watering. Try it!!!
